Born and raised in Dorset, Russ began his apprenticeship at 18 Base Workshops, Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers - Bovington Camp in 1981. After qualifying and receiving his Indentures he stayed for an extra year as Craftsman, leaving in 1986 to work as a Marine Electrician at Cobbs Quay, Poole – within a year, beginning his international career in the Marina's of the South of France.

 

Since then, projects have grown, both in size and complexity and he’s travelled and worked around the globe from Alaska to Australia not only in the marine leisure industry, but also in the commercial sector, since 2004 predominantly within the oil and gas industry. Offshore onboard ships and process platforms / Onshore in Deserts – and in the design office.

 

With a career spanning 40 years, covering a wide range of AC (Inc 3 phase) and DC electrical systems, this knowledge expanding into automation with the use of PLC’s as well as VFD's & SCADA – In 1998 he began designing and building bespoke control systems and now, over 25 years later Russ holds certification from a variety of OEM's - legacy systems are a speciality.
